Healing Trauma,  Reclaiming Meaning

The David Center for Trauma Therapy

A safe, compassionate, and culturally sensitive space for healing.
We offer trauma survivors immediate support, integrative care, and a path back to vitality – body, mind, and spirit.

About Us

Our Mission

“To build a resilient society in Israel, where individuals affected by trauma find immediate and specialized care, fostering healing and empowerment for a brighter future.”

Why We Exist

In the wake of the October 7 attacks and the ongoing conflict, over half a million Israelis have been displaced. Many communities — especially in the South and North — lack sufficient mental health care. Traditional systems are overwhelmed. As a result, thousands of trauma survivors are left without timely or adequate care. We established the David Center for Trauma Therapy to meet this urgent need. Founded in memory of Rabbi David Ohana z”l, the center is committed to providing high-quality care regardless of background, status, or ability to pay.

Our Core Approach

Mind Body Discourse Therapy (MBDT)

Trauma is not just a memory. It is a rupture – between parts of the self, between past and present, between body and soul. Developed in Israel, MBDT is a gentle and layered process that restores inner dialogue between disconnected parts of the self, such as the protective adult, the wounded child, the fearful body and the spiritual voice.

“Healing begins when we listen to what has fallen silent within us.”

Who is MBDT For?

Especially effective for adults experiencing:

Complex trauma (C-PTSD) and developmental wounds

counseling

Chronic anxiety, dissociation, or emotional overwhelm

Insecure attachment and relational difficulties

Loss of meaning or spiritual disconnection

If conventional talk therapy hasn’t reached the depths of your pain, MBDT may offer a path home.

What Makes MBDT Unique

Dialogical Healing

We see each person as a multi-voiced being. MBDT helps restore the conversation between those voices – not through confrontation, but through compassion and presence.

Gentle, Safe, Structured

Healing follows a four-phase journey:

counseling

Stabilization

building safety and trust

Gentle processing

approaching trauma with care

Integration

reconnecting body, mind, and spirit

Renewal

living from wholeness

Reconnection with Meaning

This is not just about symptom relief. MBDT creates space for spiritual encounter – for rediscovering purpose, strength, and the sacredness of being alive.

More Than Therapy

A Language of Healing

MBDT is not just a method. It is a way of seeing – a new language for healing the fractured self.

“It invites us to walk forward, not by forgetting what broke, but by carrying it – with compassion, meaning, and inner dignity.”
